Accessibility
We want Versatum to be usable with a keyboard, a screen reader and a zoomed or enlarged display. This page says what works today, the limits we know about, and how to tell us when something is hard to use.
Where we stand
Versatum has not been audited by an outside party, and we do not claim it meets a particular level of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. We check our own pages and fix what we find.
What works today
- Public pages have a skip link to the main content, which appears when you press Tab.
- The site menu opens and closes from the keyboard, and Escape closes it.
- Interactive controls show a visible focus outline.
- The storage notice can be answered, dismissed with Escape and reopened from the keyboard, and its buttons are at least 44 pixels tall.
- Animation is switched off when your system asks for reduced motion.
- The page language is declared and the viewport allows zoom.
- The command palette, opened with Command K or Control K, finds pages and features in the app from the keyboard.
- Pages you have left open stay out of the keyboard order and out of what a screen reader reads.
Limits we know about
- Charts are drawn as graphics. You cannot step through their points with a keyboard or a screen reader.
- Some controls were built for a mouse or touch first, such as rearranging dashboard widgets, and a complete keyboard alternative is not there yet.
- Some pages in the app are dense with numbers and tables, and we have not yet tested every one with a screen reader.
- Embedded charts and sign-in or payment pages run by other providers have the accessibility of those providers.
